Use this only when a direct Ethernet setup needs the computer to be on the same local network range as the machine. Open Machines from the sidebar (or press G then M), click the machine, then click Connection. The left side holds the connection itself — the address or port and its parameters — and the right side, Stream Configuration, holds each reading Rostoc expects and how it is read. You can read these values off the screen at any time, and a screenshot of that one screen is the fastest way to show support exactly how the machine is set up.Computer SetupGet Your Machine Setup Out Of ArtisanIf your roaster already connects in Artisan, you do not have to copy the settings across by hand. Artisan keeps its whole configuration in one settings file, and Rostoc reads that file directly: save an .aset file from Artisan, then add the machine in Rostoc with Import from Artisan. Hobby users can sign in but see the browser-access paywall. The web app requires an internet connection. Weight unit and currency are set in the same place. The display unit is separate from what the machine itself reports, so a machine configured in one unit can be read in the other.

Connection DiagnosticsFind The Machine IPFor Ethernet or Wi-Fi machines, Rostoc needs the machine IP address. If Rostoc sees the adapter but the machine does not respond, check that the adapter wires match the labels in the machine manual. Do not change advanced settings unless support asks.Connection DiagnosticsStatic IP For Direct Ethernet CableWith a direct Ethernet cable, the computer needs an address that looks like the machine address, but is not identical. The safest default is to keep the machine settings as they are and adjust the computer Ethernet adapter to match that range or, if the machine allows, change the machine IP to a fixed IP where the last number is different from that one of the computer and it's not 1.

Setup HelpEditing And Deleting Roast PlansA plan holds the setup you reuse for a roast: name, charge weight, target temperatures, a reference curve and notes. Open the plan and use Edit Plan to change any of it, including charge temperature. Delete is at the bottom of the same dialog. Plans cannot be re-ordered by hand in the Plans list.Setup HelpReading Rate Of RiseSettings → Roasting controls how Rate of Rise is written down: the interval it is stated over — per minute, or per 30, 15, 10 or 5 seconds — and the scale the line is drawn against, so a fast sample roaster stops running off the top of the chart. Neither setting changes how Rate of Rise is calculated, only how it is read. There is no customer-facing smoothing control.Setup HelpRecording Weight, Colour And Notes After A RoastWhen a roast finishes, Rostoc asks for its finish weight. The confirmation leads with Review batch, which opens the roast's record with the output weight ready to correct — Rostoc fills it in from the plan where it can, so this is the moment to enter what the scale says. The confirmation clears on its own after a few seconds; if it is gone, open the batch and use Edit batch in the page header. Edit batch holds the roast record: Output Weight, Colour Reading, Colour Scale, Notes and Roaster Name. Anything that moves green stock — the plan, the blend, the lots and the input weight — is behind Adjust green & inventory in the same dialog. Charge and drop temperatures come from the roast itself and are shown on the batch page rather than typed in. Home's Needs Attention list carries recent roasts with no drop weight recorded.Setup HelpWhich Roast Metrics Rostoc ShowsA batch record carries the roast curve, milestone events, phase timings for drying, Maillard and development, charge and drop temperatures, weights and notes. Rostoc also computes area under the curve — thermal load — for every roast and uses it when judging how consistent a roast is against others, but it is not displayed as a figure you can read off the batch page today.
