Find Your Machine Connection Settings In Rostoc

Summary

Every setting Rostoc uses to reach your roaster is on one screen. Open Machines from the sidebar (or press G then M), click the machine, then click Connection. The left side holds the connection itself — the address or port and its parameters — and the right side, Stream Configuration, holds each reading Rostoc expects and how it is read. You can read these values off the screen at any time, and a screenshot of that one screen is the fastest way to show support exactly how the machine is set up.

Steps

  1. Open Machines from the sidebar, or press G then M. The list shows each machine with its manufacturer, model, and current connection status.
  2. Click the machine to open its settings. The sections are listed down the left: Machine Details, Connection, Controls, and Style & Colors.
  3. Click Connection. The connection type is shown first, and the fields below it depend on that type.
  4. Network machines using Modbus TCP or UDP show Host, Port, Timeout (ms), and Word Order under Data Encoding.
  5. Serial and RS-485 machines using Modbus RTU or ASCII show, under Serial Port: Port (the COM port on Windows, the serial device on macOS and Linux), Baud Rate, Data Bits, Stop Bits, Parity, and Timeout (ms).
  6. S7 machines show Host, Port, Rack, and Slot. USB, Bluetooth, and manufacturer network machines show their own fields, such as the Bluetooth device or the machine's own port and timeouts.
  7. Look at Stream Configuration on the right for the readings. Each row carries the Label shown on your charts, its Sensor Role, and the Unit the machine sends.
  8. Machines read over Modbus also show Device ID, Register Address, Function Code, Data Type, and Divider — the values a machine manual usually lists for each reading.
  9. To share the setup with support, screenshot the Connection section with both columns visible. Please send a screenshot rather than the diagnostics export: the diagnostics ZIP carries logs and system information, not your machine connection settings.
  10. Click Test Connection to check the settings as they stand. Renaming a machine or changing its settings does not affect roasts you already recorded.
