Experimental Rostoc Compatibility with Santoker R Series USB
Does Rostoc support the Santoker R Series USB?
Rostoc lists experimental compatibility for the Santoker R Series USB via USB serial (9600 baud). This Machine can be connected for real-time roast logging, Curve recording, and roast analysis. Confirm the setup before relying on it for production logging.
Connection setup
The Santoker R Series USB connects to Rostoc via USB serial (9600 baud).Connection: USB Serial.
Setup steps
- Connect the roaster to your computer with a data-capable USB cable.
- Install the manufacturer's USB or serial driver if your operating system requires it.
- Open Rostoc and go to Settings → Machines.
- Click + Add Machine and choose Browse Catalogue.
- Find "Santoker R Series USB" in the catalog and click Add.
- Back on the main screen, click Use for the Machine if needed, then choose the serial port assigned to the roaster. The baud rate and serial settings are pre-filled from the catalog.
- Close other roasting software that may be using the same USB or serial port.
- Click Connect to begin logging.
Troubleshooting
- Serial port not detected
- Try another data-capable USB cable and port. Install the manufacturer driver if your operating system asks for one.
- Wrong serial port selected
- Unplug the roaster, note which ports are listed, replug, and select the new one.
- Data stream is empty
- Confirm the roaster is powered on and out of startup or standby. Some machines only send data in specific modes.
