Set up Rostoc
The first time you open Rostoc there are two short screens, and then you are in the app. Everything else is a checklist you work through at your own pace, in whatever order suits you.
The two setup screens
Section titled “The two setup screens”Create your account. Rostoc opens your browser to sign up or log in, then returns to the app.
Choose your units. Temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit, weight in kilograms or pounds. Both are display preferences — you can change them later in Settings → Preferences, and changing them converts what you see rather than rewriting anything.
Click Get started and Rostoc opens on Home.
The Get started checklist
Section titled “The Get started checklist”Home shows Get started in its left column until you have worked through it, with a counter beside the heading.

Each row checks itself off from what is actually in your account, not from whether you clicked it — so importing a machine setup or a spreadsheet counts the same as doing it by hand. Rows completed on one computer show as completed on another.
Once the checklist is done, the column becomes Needs Attention and starts showing your real work.
The sample data
Section titled “The sample data”A new account arrives with sample coffees, Lots, Batches, Plans, and an order in flight. They exist so Home, Green Inventory, and Batches have something to show while you find your way around, and they are marked sample wherever they appear.
Remove them from the Remove sample data row on the checklist, or from the Remove demo data button on the sample notice at the top of Home. Rostoc asks to confirm, then deletes only what it created. This cannot be undone, but nothing you made yourself is touched.
After your first roast
Section titled “After your first roast”Once you have recorded a Batch, Rostoc asks once where you roast — your country, your team size, and your roastery name if you want to give it. It shapes what gets built next. Skip it and it does not come back.
