Summary

On macOS, the computer IP is changed in Network settings. Use this only when a direct Ethernet setup needs the computer to be on the same local network range as the machine. If this computer is on a managed company network, ask your network admin or Rostoc support before changing adapter settings.

Steps

  1. Open macOS System Settings and go to Network.
  2. Select the active Ethernet adapter, or Wi-Fi if the machine is reached through the same router.
  3. Only switch to a manual address for a direct Ethernet cable setup.
  4. Use the same mask shown by the machine and choose a different IP address in the same range.
  5. Leave the other fields blank unless the machine manual gives values.
